Slyder

Indica

Also known as: Cherry Slyder

Slyder Strain Overview

Slyder has a fascinating origin story rooted in cannabis exploration during the 1980s. Just after the Soviet Union withdrew from Afghanistan, a cannabis explorer from Amsterdam set off to meet the traditional ganja farmers of the Khyber Pass. She gained their trust by sharing stashes with them, and returned home with a selection of rare Afghan seeds chosen for their sedative qualities. These traditional hash strains tended to be acclimated to Afghanistan, making them ill-suited for either indoor growth or outdoor conditions in the Netherlands. However, crossing the Afghan seeds with Northern Lights resulted in an ideal indoor-adapted sedative indica, Sagarmatha's Slyder. This 100% pure indica strain was created as a cross of Afghani and Northern Lights strains and is a favorite for making edibles, with THC levels that often reach above the 20% mark. Slyder gets its distinctive name from the heavy body effects it produces - users often experience a strong lethargic stone that induces an imagined paralysis or weightiness to the feet, causing people to slide their feet instead of lifting them when walking.

Slyder Strain Growing Information

Slyder has a flowering time of 55-60 days with an average height of 1 meter and yields of 300-325 grams per square meter when grown indoors. This variety is excellent for indoor production due to its low smell and high yields. Dutch growers typically vegetate Slyder until it produces between four and seven internodes, at which point they clip the central cola. The plant performs equally well as a multi-branch or sea-of-green plant, yielding over 300 grams per square meter in SOG cultivation. It gives off minimal odor during flowering, making it suitable for large, inconspicuous shared cultivations. Growing difficulty is considered easy to moderate, making it accessible for novice cultivators.
