Speed Queen
Speed Queen
Also known as: Surfer's Choice
Overview
Speed Queen is a predominantly indica cannabis strain developed by Mandala Seeds, bred from Himachal Pradesh, North India x P1/J3 genetics. This strain was created with the aim of producing a reliable, high-performance plant that reflects the robust characteristics of its North Indian indica heritage. The strain was a favorite among Mandala growers for 10+ years and was reintroduced to their catalog due to popular demand. Named after its quick flowering time and early finish, Speed Queen quickly produces resinous clusters of buds from top to bottom.
This stocky and vigorous indica features a thick main stem (green or with distinct scarlet coloring) and fleshy leaves. The buds are small, airy, and super leafy with grape-shaped dark forest green nugs featuring dark purple leaves and long thin amber twisty hairs. The bud leaves and even sun leaves are covered in frosty trichomes, giving the buds great "bag appeal". The strain is known for its exceptional ease of cultivation, making it a good choice for novice growers and is considered one of Mandala's top "Hard-2-Kill" varieties due to its resilience and low maintenance requirements.

Growing Information
Indoor flowering time is a fast 8 weeks (55+ days), with outdoor harvest in mid-September in southern latitudes or September to mid-October in northern climates. Expected yields are 350+ grams per square meter indoors and 850+ grams per plant outdoors. The strain is exceptionally easy to grow and forgives occasional mistakes in plant care, growing robustly with good soil and low levels of feeding. It's resilient in rough outdoor weather and has resistance to heat spikes. Plants grow squat and broad, fitting into grow spaces where shorter plants are required and are perfect for incognito balcony and outdoor cultivation. This is not a typical strain for LST or SCROG methods due to low stretch, but you can prune the top shoot early for multi-branch plants. The strain is highly suitable for SOG (Sea of Green) cultivation methods.
