Originally developed during Paradise Seeds' breeding program in Switzerland in the early 2000s, this strain was part of a collection that included other notable varieties like Rox, Swiss Bliss, and strains still sold today. Despite its sweet name suggesting a sugary profile, Sugar Babe is known for its distinctive sharp, metallic lemon flavor with a clean metal taste and harshly chemical aftertaste reminiscent of ammonia. The strain gets its name from its appearance rather than taste, featuring oversized dense rotund spade-shaped light minty green nuggets with abundant almost clear amber hairs and a super frosty layer of white and amber crystal trichomes that create a sugar-coated appearance reminiscent of Alpine mountaintops where it originated. Although indica genetics dominate, Sugar Babe produces surprisingly energetic and uplifting effects that encourage activities and outdoor recreation rather than typical sedative indica effects.
