Sunset Sherbet
Sunset Sherbet
Also known as: Sherbet, Sherbert, Sunset Sherbert, Sherbert OG
Overview
Sunset Sherbet is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain that has earned legendary status in the cannabis community since its creation. The origins of Sunset Sherbet trace back to a cross between two legendary strains: Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) and Pink Panties. This combination resulted in a hybrid that is predominantly indica, with 85% indica genetics and 15% sativa. It was Mr. Sherbinski, who (previously a grower for Cookies Family geneticists) originally created Sunset Sherbet. According to growers, Sherbert was originally bred by Mr. Sherbinski, who bred Sherbert intentionally to inherit the genetic lineage of its parent strain Girl Scout Cookies. The strain gained widespread popularity after taking out third place at the 2017 High Times Cannabis Cup.
Visually, Sunset Sherbet is striking with buds that are often dense and exhibit a range of colors, including shades of purple, orange, and pink. These visually appealing buds are covered with a thick layer of trichomes, giving them a frosty and resinous texture. The strain is renowned for its dessert-like aroma and flavor profile, featuring a sweet and fruity aroma with hints of citrus. When you first smell it, you might think there are berries in the mix. Sunset Sherbet, like many hybrid strains, benefits from the best qualities of both parent strains—GSC offers high THC content and a rich terpene profile, while Pink Panties brings floral sweetness and calming effects.

Growing Information
Moderately difficult to grow, novice growers are still advised to give Sunset Sherbet a spot in their grow room. She won't punish simple mistakes, as long as they are rectified quickly. Indoors, flowering takes roughly 8-9 weeks. Outdoors, she will be ready to harvest in late September or early October. Once out of the vegetative stage, expect her to stretch up to 150–200cm tall when growing outdoors. If you are growing indoors and conditions are optimal, Sunset Sherbet usually grows to a 100-120cm height. Indoor growers report an average of 8 ounces of bud, and outdoor growers report around 11 ounces per plant. Sunset Sherbet grows bushy plants that respond well to topping and training. A central California climate with warm nights and hot days is ideal for outdoor production of this strain. Sunset Sherbet plants love a warm, Mediterranean-type climate, so if you live in an area with this climate, you'll be able to plant them outdoors in a nice, sheltered spot. If this isn't an option, you can easily create similar conditions indoors with the proper setup.
