Overview
Super Cheese is an indica-dominant hybrid with a legacy that follows in the tradition of Dutch cannabis breeding. This pungent strain was created by Positronics, breeders of strains like Blue Rhino and Critical 47, and crosses the genetics of staple strain Cheese with the distinct phenotype Exodus Cheese. Super Cheese is an indica dominant hybrid (80% indica/20% sativa) strain created as a cross of the infamous Cheese X Exodus Cheese strains. This bud was bred back in the 1980's as a coffee shop strain in Amsterdam and just was thrown back on the scene. The strain represents a nostalgic throwback to the cheese varieties that filled Dutch coffee shops in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Super Cheese is marked by medium-sized, solid flowers that hold an elongated, almost cylindrical shape. These buds have the dense structure associated with other indica-dominant varieties, with leaves curled tightly inward toward their central stems. The leaves themselves are a vibrant shade of spring green and are twisted through with brown and orange pistils. Frequently, phenotypes of Super Cheese also boast patches of purple in their leaves; these surprising hues come about when high concentrations of the pigment anthocyanin are stimulated by cooler temperatures during cultivation. This bud has insanely stick long narrow foxtail-shaped bright neon green nugs with rich amber undertones and hairs and a fine layer of translucent crystal trichomes.
The strain's most distinctive characteristic is its powerful aroma and flavor profile. A quick inspection reveals the strong, tangy odor of sharp cheese. A closer sniff hints as some fermented, almost moldy notes, making the aroma similar to that of cousin strain Blue Cheese. This bud has a flavor of skunky musky blue cheese with an herbal creamy aftertaste that can be sharp at times. The powerful stench is of rotting blue cheese with a skunky effect as the nugs are broken apart and smoked.

Its genetics aim for a robust, compact, and resistant plant with a medium size but strong branches that support the buds well. This makes it easy to grow and very suitable for indoor cultivation. Once obtained, it can be grown indoors or out, although outdoor cultivation calls for a semi-humid, Mediterranean-like climate. Plants have a short and bushy silhouette and are easily accommodated indoors. Super Cheese flowers within a brief 7 to 8 weeks and offers a solid yield of about 32 to 37 grams (1.1 to 1.3 ounces) of flower per square foot of plant. Flowering time is 8 to 9 weeks and Yield is 13 ounces. In general, indoor growers can expect yields of around 550 grams per square foot, while outdoor growers can expect up to 200-400 grams per plant. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a very aromatic plant that emits a strong odor even during the growth phase, which intensifies greatly during the flowering phase.
