Overview
Super Silver Haze was born through the careful and strategic cross-breeding of Northern Lights, Haze, and Skunk #1, three of the highest quality strains on earth. This sativa-dominant strain was bred by Green House Seeds and won first prize at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1997, 1998, and 1999. The strain is a sativa-dominant hybrid with an 80% sativa/20% indica ratio (some sources report 70% sativa/30% indica), making it one of the most celebrated and award-winning cannabis varieties of all time.
Super Silver Haze buds have fluffy and airy popcorn-shaped bright green nugs with orange hairs and a frosty thick coating of tiny silvery white crystal trichomes. The leaves are so well covered in trichomes that trimming them is purely for commercial aesthetics, with 21% THC making it a favourite for making hash and extracts. The strain's name reflects its distinctive silver-white trichome coverage that gives the buds their characteristic shimmering appearance. Like many vintage cannabis strains, it can be considered a classic and may have transcended classic status to become legend, remaining popular and continuing to win cups or parent cup winners to this day.

Growing Super Silver Haze requires some experience and is not suitable for novice growers, especially those wanting their plant to reach its full potential. As is typical with most other sativa strains, expect Super Silver Haze to produce tall plants. Super Silver Haze flowers within 10-12 weeks when grown indoors and is ready for harvest in mid-October when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere. Super Silver Haze thrives best in hydroponic growing conditions but can also be grown in soil. Successful indoor harvests yield around 19 ounces per square meter, and outdoor yields 15 ounces per plant. Expect the plant to stretch 2-3x during flowering. Indoors, up to 800g/m² of dense buds under ideal conditions. Outdoors, yields can hit 1+ kilogram per plant when grown in open ground with full sun. The strain thrives in controlled environments where temperature and humidity can be meticulously managed, ideally suited for indoor cultivation under temperatures between 68-80°F (20-27°C) with relative humidity levels around 40-50% during flowering.
