Beginning in the 1990s, the breeding project started with a variegated Blueberry F1 male crossed with Shesherazade (Afghan Kush) and Sweet Purple (Thai x Dutch genetics). From 1995-2000, NL#5 Haze, Jack Herer, and Durban Poison were introduced into the line. In 2003, the first stable mutants called Trinidad were bred, which were then refined until 2011 to create the SWAG Original. Plants grow 1-2 meters in size, with some phenotypes producing stocky indica-leaning structures while others stretch to reach up to 2 meters. The buds have a unique oval-egg shaped structure and produce sugary flowers with extraordinary visual appeal. The strain line produces some runts, crested, variegated and crinkled variants, with most variegated lines emerging from the SWAG gene pool.
