Also known as: Texada Timewarp

Timewarp Strain Overview

Originating out of Vancouver Island, Canada, Timewarp or Texada Timewarp has been grown on both the Texada and Vancouver Islands for decades. The story behind this strain goes back to the 1970s, when a group of draft-dodging 'hippies' migrated up to Texada and surrounding islands on the BC coast, bringing a whole bunch of heirloom outdoor genetics from the United States with them. The strain was originally clone-only and is descended from a Canadian landrace hybrid that is mostly Sativa. According to growers who sourced the original clone from Powell River and Texada, it was said to be of Afghani origin that came from Northern California.

Texada Timewarp has been considered the taste of British Columbia's Gulf Islands for around 30 years now, with its big lemony buds becoming a legend. Unfortunately, the first iteration of this strain is nearly non-existent but a few breeders have inbred and back-crossed it to create the strain in seed form. Breeders that have created their own version of Timewarp include Jordan of the Islands, BC Bud Depot and the Next Generation Seed Company. The Original Texada Timewarp is a clone only and has been kept going for many decades. Many BC breeders have made crosses of it to add to their collection. The serious outdoor farmers in BC keep coming back to this old favorite for its hardy growth, big yields, and great high.
