The strain is the result of crossing Black Samarian Diesel with Runtz S1 from Elev8 Seeds. The strain can be cultivated indoors, outdoors and greenhouse with plants needing a flowering time of approximately 75 days.

The name comes from the fact that most phenotypes finish with dark colors, as dark as a supermassive black hole - a reference to TON 618, which is actually one of the most massive known black holes in the universe. According to the breeder, smoking it is literally like being pulled into a black hole with a truly powerful effect. The strain represents the breeder's highest-THC variety to date, with one parent phenotype selected for reaching 29% THC content using spectrophotometry technology for testing.

The Black Samarian Diesel parent was selected from a population of 300 regular seeds, with only one female phenotype retained out of 130 females, chosen based on THC readings. The chosen phenotype had a delicious diesel aroma with sweet cream notes and strong effects due to high cannabinoid content. The Runtz S1 parent was selected as the highest THC phenotype from 6 seeds, reaching 29% THC and showcasing classic Runtz flavor with sweet undertones.
