Triangle Kush
Triangle Kush
Also known as: Triangle OG, OG Triangle, Florida OG Kush
Overview
Triangle Kush, also known as "Triangle OG" and "OG Triangle," is an indica-dominant hybrid strain that originated in Florida. This strain gets its name from Florida's three cannabis-producing capitals: Jacksonville, Miami, and Tampa. Triangle Kush is a classic hybrid strain bred by Marty TK Calabrese in Florida. A cross of Hindu Kush and Emerald Triangle, Triangle Kush boasts strong indica genetics, excellent aromas, and a heavy physical stone that'll put veteran smokers to sleep. The strain's origin story traces back to the 1980s when Marty realized that one of his Hindu Kush plants had produced pollen. Despite removing the plant, at harvest time, Marty and his partner realized that the pollen had spread to all the plants in the room, including some Emerald Triangle females that were growing in the same space. Little did he know that one of the bags he sold to a friend would, years later, give rise to Triangle Kush and OG Kush.
Triangle Kush is predominantly indica (85%), with minor sativa genetics (15%). The THC percentage of Triangle Kush typically ranges between 20% and 26%, making it a particularly potent strain. This high THC content is responsible for the strain's powerful relaxing effects, as well as its ability to relieve stress, nausea, and pain for many users. Triangle Kush buds have round leafy forest green nugs with long thin dark orange hairs and a coating of sugary bright white crystal trichomes. Come harvest time, Triangle Kush plants are typically loaded with chunky, bright green flowers boasting swollen calyxes, rust-coloured pistils, and a thick coat of sticky, aromatic trichomes.

Growing Information
On average, Triangle Kush strains take about 8–9 weeks to finish flowering and produce yields of up to 400g/m² indoors and up to 400g/plant outside. The flowering time for an indoor Triangle Kush plant is 9-10 weeks, with a yield of 8 to 10 ounces per square meter. The outdoor plant is ready for harvest mid of October with a yield of 10 to 12 ounces per plant. Despite its sturdiness, however, it is not beginner friendly. As a clone-only strain, it may prove impossible for many to obtain a clipping. Grown indoors, Triangle Kush involves some meticulous upkeep. The indoor environment, for example, must be moderately hot and CO2 rich. These plants are generally stocky and bushy, reaching moderate heights indoors (especially if appropriately trained). Outdoors, however, Triangle Kush plants might grow much larger, reaching heights of up to 200cm. Known to veg vigorously and produce a lot of foliage, Triangle Kush usually responds well to trimming, defoliation, and even lollipopping. Thanks to her landrace heritage, Triangle Kush is known to be resilient to pests and pathogens, as well as cooler temperatures.
