Overview
Tropicana Cookies, also known as "Tropicanna Cookies," "Tropicana Cookies F2," and "MTN Trop," is a hybrid marijuana strain first bred by Harry Palms of Bloom Seed Co, who crossed GSC and Tangie. The strain was skillfully crafted by the long-time cannabis breeder Harry Palms, and the flavor and potency of the original Tropicana have since been refined by Colorado-based Oni Seed Co., giving rise to a second-generation version—Tropicanna Cookies F2. Oni was also founded by Harry Palms, alongside Oni Noodles, as they set out to develop the industry's most flavorsome strains. Tropicana Cookies won first place in the Sativa category at the IC 420 Growers Cup in 2019.
This sativa-dominant hybrid is a cross between Tropicana Punch and Girl Scout Cookies (GSC). Tropicana Punch contributes its citrusy, tropical notes, while Girl Scout Cookies adds a layer of sweet, earthy complexity. The strain typically produces dense and resinous buds that feature a range of colors, including deep greens and shades of purple, often intertwined with vibrant orange pistils. These visually appealing buds are complemented by a generous coating of trichomes, lending them a frosty and glistening appearance. The average THC content of Tropicana Cookies ranges from 25-27% THC when grown in ideal conditions, although certain phenos have tested above 30%. She also comes to the table with 1% CBG, which is known for offering anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects, making this strain perfect for both recreational and medicinal use.

Tropicana Cookies has a flowering time of around 8–10 weeks and is fairly easy to grow and offers large yields. The plant is quite easy to grow, and it displays good resilience to pests and diseases. Moreover, Tropicana Cookies is known to get really big, with commensurately large indoor and outdoor yields of 600g/m² and 800g/plant, respectively. It does best in moderate to warm climates, with temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C). Tropicana Cookies produces a moderate to high yield when properly cared for. Indoor cultivation can yield between 350-450 grams per square meter, while outdoor plants can produce up to 500 grams per plant. Despite leaning into its sativa heritage and growing tall, Tropicana Cookies develops broad leaves and dense, indica-like buds. As such, this cultivar requires regular pruning to keep the canopy under control, or growers risk mold and poor airflow spoiling their harvest. The cultivar produces a central cola and strong branches that benefit from Sea of Green (SOG) or Screen of Green (ScrOG).
