Created from Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani landrace genetics through the original AK-47, UK47 is classified as a sativa-dominant hybrid that exhibits notable indica characteristics in its growth pattern and effects.

The strain is characterized by extremely vigorous vegetative growth, dense bud formation typical of indica varieties despite its sativa dominance, and an exceptionally pungent aroma profile. UK47 demonstrates unique physical traits including thick pistils compared to other strains, double serration on the leaves, and a tendency toward 'taco leaf' when over-fertilized.
