Vashon Early Bird is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain developed by Vashon Seed and Mercantile, bred by crossing Vashon Kush with an Early VSM Male, resulting in a strain that can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of approximately 6-7 weeks (±40 days). The strain was created by longtime cannabis cultivator Mike from Vashon Island, Washington, with Vashon Seed & Mercantile focusing on quality medicinal strains using heirloom genetics brought to America from the Middle East and Amsterdam nearly a generation ago, combined with local plants from Washington State. This indica hybrid combines the intense terpene production that Vashon Kush is known for with a super early flower time, offering medium yields. Growers report that Vashon Early Bird produces short plants with limited stretch that are very single cola dominant with large yields for their size, featuring some of the strongest stems ever seen on outdoor plants with very rugged frames, and showing remarkable uniformity from seed to seed with vigorous growth compared to most modern indoor strains. The Early Bird genetics used in this cross trace back to the original Super Sativa Seed Club's M26 strain, an early Dutch cold-resistant variety that has been maintained and worked with on Vashon Island for many years, making it particularly valuable for early finishing and mold-resistant breeding programs.
