The strain's lineage comes from crossing (Watermelon Rancher x Legacy Sour) with Koffee F5, where Watermelon Rancher is described as a legacy Mendo strain known for hitting high terpene numbers. This was then crossed to a legacy sour male to create Watermelon Sour, which was subsequently bred with the Koffee F5 that Pacific NW Roots had been working with for three generations. Koffee F5 itself is a slightly indica-dominant hybrid created by crossing Alien OG and Alien Kush strains.

Watermelon Koffee produces vibrant, colorful buds that exude a sweet watermelon aroma blended with undertones of bold espresso.
